Our story

The Roost Homestead was a dream long before it was built. Our family started out with a love of gardening - the reward of hard work and the freshness of produce - evolved into prioritizing self-sustainability and appreciating glyphosate-free produce from nutrient dense soil. Chickens came next, as we wanted fresh eggs from happy hens. Learning more about commercial gardening and farming, we questioned why commercial bread products had a paragraph of ingredients - which led us to baking our own. We fell in love with the process, and eventually felt proud to share our homemade bread products with others.

In 2023 we bought acreage, built a home, chicken coops, a garden, and kitchens able to handle large volume baking. We have plans to expand our products to include farm produce, eggs, and canned goods.

As a homeschool family, baking and cooking with the kids is a priority - so we create e-books to guide other families through teaching kids how to bake! Check out our merchandise and e-books through this site, and all info for orders will be posted under the Bakery page on this site.
